Scientific knowledge, based on research and open to constant evaluation, best informs our choices and progress.
Salient requirements are:
- Coordination: funding coordination of peer-reviewed research among varying disciplines
- Communication: presenting results understandable to both lay and scientific audiences
- Availability: corporate and public disclosure and funding of media for educational purposes
- Transparency: Identification of funding sources, including corporate, interest group and public funding
There is a lot of effort and money put into research — little to communications outside those otherwise closed specialties.
