Trust in each other is the anchor of a civil society.

The institutions and systems we create must be based on a set of values and enforcement mechanisms that support the well-being and promise of the entities created.  Trust in the performance of these entities is the foundation of a civil society.

  • in our legal and enforcement systems
  • in our governance
  • in our commercial institutions.

The larger they become, the less reactive to even minor changes.  So decentralization and local control at the lowest level possible are critical.
